JoJo
JoJo grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. Her mother was a church soloist and musical theater performer. JoJo imitated her
mother, trying to get all the notes she did. She also sang along to the family's favorite artists: Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha
Franklin, Whitney Houston, and Etta James. When JoJo was 2 years old, she sang nursery rhymes, making them jazzy. JoJo found
her big break in the newspaper; on an ad advertising auditions for kids say the darndest things. JoJo immediately got the
part due to soul and spirit. JoJo's rendition of respect by Aretha Franklin earned her an overwhelming response from the crowd.
Soon after Oprah Winfrey invited JoJo onto her show. When it came to performing, jojo had no fear. Jojo did all of the many
things she was invited to do, such as talk shows and music festivals. When JoJo appeared on America's most talented kids a
man in the audience noticed her and introduced her to the producer Vincent Herbert. JoJo spent the next four months after
singing contract recording for her first CD. JoJo wrote the songs keep on keepn' on, yes or no, and sunshine.
